V100 Guzzi
Jim Hamlin and some other guy had new V100 Guzzis at the NY Rally and I was looking at them. Most of you know I'm kind of anal about how things on a bike 'look', well the new goose has won the all time award for appalling mounting of a horn. It looks like the bike was ready to leave the factory when someone said 'Oh my God, Tony we forgot to put on a horn'. So they just stuck (yes stuck) a horn, swinging in the breeze on the bottom left of the radiator. Here's a pic I found on the net.

Don't worry - it needs to be replaced immediately as Piaggio sourced it from a 50cc scooter. Not only does it look bad it's so pathetically weak that it's functionally useless.

I did preamble with; "Most of you know I'm kind of anal about how things on a bike 'look' "Kev M wrote:Hey Princess, I found your Pea!
Something else about the new bike, Jim Hamlin went to the service class on the new bike and got to see inside the engine and he said that the new engine "Has Aprilia written all over it", Jim also works on Aprilias so he would know. I would guess that would be a good thing from a performance viewpoint.

I'm sure it's a great bike.
It's not my cuppa' but that's for other reasons.
Did I mention I thought of you too when I stopped by Cycle Smart the other month and GOOD THING I was a day late because they had a ONE OWNER, ALWAYS MAINTAINED, from estate sale, R1100R (in Blue) with something like 15k miles or so and seemingly perfect shape - for only $4500!!! Luckily someone else had stopped by already and demanded they take her money and not mine.

Re: V100 Guzzi
Presume you all saw my V100 ride review in the Ride Reports...
Engine is a keeper provided it's reliable. Likes to rev even more than the V85. Not your father's big block Guzzi. Still has Guzzi character, just not as much.

Actually you can find R1200Rs at that price range with fairly (30K ish) low milage and it's a vastly superior bike.Kev M wrote:

Was the 1200RS the last of the screw and locknut valve adjustments?!?
Or was it already the cassette camshafts? I'd rather the former.
The R9T looks pretty damn nice. I was considering a 9T pure for a little bit.
But really, I should just shut up and be happy with my Guzzis.

Re: V100 Guzzi
I think 2010 Rs were the last year screw and locknut type valve adjustment. Mines a 2007 and that's what they are.
The R9Ts are pretty but they are kind of cramped.

Re: V100 Guzzi
Here's a more recent story on the V100 Stelvio. $20K estimated price seems a bit high and would put it out of consideration for replacing my V85TT.
