Clutchtime for Eldorado...and Germany
Apologies to Mel Brooks for Title. Anyways- Going back and forth with Charlie Mullendore a while back, we determined the high revving- no go behavior the Eldorado was exhibiting was due to a worn clutch. Not so much worn but glazed. I tried the ol' mineral spirits in the bell housing trick but it didn't do the trick. Rusty orange residue came gushing out so it was time for a more in depth look about.
New clutch plates in hand. Will be reusing the original intermediate plate since the one in the kit suddenly became warped...Technical Installation Alignment Error is the correct term according the the Kremlin. Upgraded the flywheel bolts to 10.9 grade according to Guzziology. Should have everything buttoned up in handful of days.

Quite the undertaking! Congrats on mustering the courage to DIY. I can empathize having once changed an EV clutch and converting it from single to dual-plate.
Hope it all works out and you get many trouble free miles when you're done.
