My 2007 R1200R has been retired. With 150,000 it's been in all the States (except Rhode Island), all the Maritime and border Provinces and coast to coast four times (I live just North of Atlantic City). I had planned on selling it, but even though it's running perfectly (except the fuel gauge) with new tires and rebuilt Ohlins shocks the 150 K was a deal breaker unless I wanted to give it away for almost nothing. Although it's been knocked down a few times it has never let me down and always brought me home. The places I've seen and experiences I've had with those handlebars in my hands are a major part of my adult life. So, I decided to give it a place in the garage and repurpose it. All the touring stuff is gone, fairing, Corbin seat, TPMS, extra horns and lights, GPS, Skene rear lights, top case and stock bags. On its initial trip to the local bike spot, the go-fast group gave it a lot of attention likely trying to figure out what it was.

Took a bunch of stuff off, added a rear cowl, dark tail light, some red.  Should be a great warm weather bike>
I hope my Guzzi is running as well at 150,000.

Looks fresher than bikes with 1/10th the mileage. What major repairs or maintenance did you have to make?

Clearly you got your moneys worth out of that machine.  Even if you sell it cheap, you’re still ahead.  Save yourself the garage space and registration and insurance, and let it go.

Surprisingly few.  Driveshaft went at 40,000 (caught it before it became a problem) present one in there for 100,000 and still looks good.
Rear drive seal went at 60,000 and replaced crown bearing with new improved one while they were in there.

Actually it has earned a spot in the garage, I removed a lot of weight and changed the ergonomics slightly.  I thought I could adapt to the reduced horsepower on the Guzzi but it hasn't happened yet.  The Beemer will power the front wheel off the ground with a roll on in first or second, and I still like that feeling, even though I know a person of my advanced age shouldn't.
I'm down to four in the garage and that works, kind of.
It's only a few hundred bucks a year and I can take it out and scare myself if I want, it's an E-ticket ride.  I'm spending that on the /5 and gets a lot less than 1,000 a year.

I took almost 100 pounds off the bike, I was really surprised at the difference.
