V7 with red valve covers
Hi Kev,
do you think you could photoshop the red valve covers (as in your Carbon) into this image. I always liked the red covers and was wondering how they would look on this color combo.
Thanks,
Nick

I still don't know if it fits the 850 V7. I asked the dealer where I got the bike in Italy, but haven't heard back .....yet

Call or e-mail AF1. They have their act together and will get back to you with the right answer.Nick wrote:I still don't know if it fits the 850 V7. I asked the dealer where I got the bike in Italy, but haven't heard back .....yet
They also carry stuff that no one else has.

Re: V7 with red valve covers
I would go with a green rear fender matching the side covers and a silver tail light matching the tank.
If you go with the red covers you'll might have to get red bi-tubo shocks (or springs).
Just sayin [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

BTW, I like the rear fender, and might look for a red-springed rear suspension if it's available for this bike

So I can't just color sample and paint it or it will lose all the highlights.
My method is to highlight the area and then adjust the color balance.
It's crude but the best way I've found with my limited skills.
How close I can get varies with not only my lack of talent in this area but of the quality and lighting of the source photo I'm editing.
Is this closer?!?

Re: V7 with red valve covers
Because of Nicks rear fender not being painted I started looking at other bikes, including mine. With cans or bags on the back it can't be noticed but none of the bikes have painted rear fenders.
WHAT"S WITH THAT???
IMHO motorcycles are all about profile, if the sides aren't 'right' the whole bike looks screwed up.
Having the fenders and tank the same color pulls the eye back along the bike and gives it a long and low look. Again - it's what the eye sees not what is.

I agree 100% and it's one of the reason we have the particular models/colors we have.

Re: V7 with red valve covers
I'm usually more toward the conservative side with my motorcycle styling, but this one is so far past conservative that I figured the red valve covers couldn't make it any worse. And, again, it's embracing the McDonald thing.
Actually, I think it makes the engine look bigger.
It was funny, after working on the Beemer with all that 'stuff' inside the valve cover (Cams, chains, gears four valves and four rocker arms) and then opening up the Guzzi and seeing two push rods/two rocker arms/two valves and a lot of empty space.
