I never in a thousand years thought I'd see parts made specifically for Guzzi on sale at Walmart;
I realize it's out of stock, but still.

Not so shocking as Walmart it trying to compete with Amazon by offering better reseller terms to other companies. If the guards were in stock well, THAT would be shocking!

Yeah, it's probably not even WalMart, but WalMart Marketplace which is, as Eric says, like Amazon's business model giving a central retail point and distribution model to any moog who wants to sell some crap. And more and more, it's harder to tell the crap from the quality stuff.
