They redid the bulkhead but I don't think they repaved the parking lot.

Re: New Year's Day ride
One of these days man, one of these days I'll join you guys on one of these. I've heard good things about that place.
Alas, I'll be waking up in PA on that morning though....

Re: New Year's Day ride
Good turn out and the sun came out on the ride home. The parking lot ( which we found out doesn't belong to the bar ) is indeed paved.
As usual it was jammed and the band started playing at the acoustic shock level driving most of the old guys out onto the deck.

Mad Mike ended up showing, albeit on a Harley. Also Frank on his V7. I get that place is a nice location, but between the shitty food, shoddy service and loud band in a small room I gotta wonder why everyone continues to meet there.

Re: New Year's Day ride
It's just an excuse to get out on New Year's day. Maybe we can start a Jersey Guzzi New Year's day tradition....

Re: New Year's Day ride
That would be a great idea-I guess many Guzzi people don't come because they think it's a Beemer only thing. Of course we would have to pick a location.Nick wrote:It's just an excuse to get out on New Year's day. Maybe we can start a Jersey Guzzi New Year's day tradition....

Some of those Beemer riders come down from North Jersey and a few from the Cape May area so it's kind of a centralized spot. I mentioned before on this list that the New Sweden BMW club is IMHO the most active BMW club in Jersey, they attend rallies all over and have many social events and their own NJ rally in the fall. Although they are registered as a BMW club, they also have an AMA charter, they are open to all brands of motorcycles and more than a few members don't even own a BMW.
In the spring they run the NS450 which is set up as a Saturday Sunday ride.

Re: New Year's Day ride
I suggest Lake Como, NJ it seems apropos (used to be South Belmar).
Small town unfortunately no Italian restaurants but a few eating places.
Possibly have it on November 4th, or March 15th
Pick a place and reserve a table for six.

Re: New Year's Day ride
I don’t know where you got your dates from. I see that November 4th in Italy is National Unity and Armed Forces Day and as far as March 15:
Beware the ides of March
I still say Dec. 31. It sounds more.....daring
Lake Como would be perfect, BTW. Even if it is a couple of hours away from me.
Ps.: I may just take a ride there soon to get a picture of one of the Guzzi by the welcome sign and post it on an Italian forum I belong to

Re: New Year's Day ride
Come-on, those dates are meaningless to you ??.
November 4 is Carlo Guzzi's birthday
March 15 1921 was the day "Società Anonima Moto Guzzi" was established.
I thought all people interested in Guzzi's knew that.
Actually Lake Como would make a good lunch stop anytime outside the tourist season. The town is really small but it must have some sort of eating place. I'd check it out but I'm done scouting eating places for is group.
