The Tent-------
For those involved in the TENT conversation at the Virginia Rally -- I bought the tent even though I don't NEED it.
For those that weren't involved. REI is having a sale and one item is an Exped tent that is rather unique and really cheap.

Wow, that IS pretty cheap. Do I even need a new tent? Nooo, but?
Hmmmm…..
Damn, Harry…..
I saw the specs. Is it really a compact size packed up for travel?

Re: The Tent-------
I watched the guy at the VA rally pack the tent up, it is small and only 6 pounds. It seems like a great tent for solo camping.Did you get the half-off ground cloth too? I am going to attach it to the tent with added clips, like our redverz tent. 8 or more people at the rally bought one. Ours arrives soon….

Yes I figured for twenty something bucks I couldn't pass it up.
It's on it's way.
The straw that sent me over the edge was when I was telling Alan about all of the Black Diamond guys buying the tent he answered, 'I just ordered one'. I was doomed.
Planning to use it in New York, unless it's a lot of rain I'll stay home. Keith is my new best buddy.

That IS a pretty cool contraption! I have a regular 2 person, me and myself, Alps mountaineering Lynx with doors and vestibule front and back. Cheap, light and I like it. But you definitely cant sit chairs and a table in it...........Good find.

Re: The Tent-------
I finally got to put 'The Tent' up in the back yard.
First, let me say that when I buy a tent, I usually get the outfitter line, (Heavier poles and thicker material that the regular ones and usually $100 more) so that's my base line.
I should also note I usually get a 3/4-man tent
The tent is very lite, and the material seems thin, put the reviews say it's good in a downpour.
The sleeping area looks a little tight for two people, but plenty for one.
It looks like it would be a bear to put up, but the poles are shock corded together and you can't get it wrong. The tent (and ground cloth) is color coded where the poles plug in. Went up in about five minutes without looking at the instructions (who would do that !!!!)
