BMW R18 Released
Beemer has finally released the production model of it's entry into the cruiser market the R18.
Unlike the former CL model and the offerings from other European companies, IMHO I think Beemer nailed the American Cruiser look with this bike.

It really looks like they're all in on this, as an option they offer a set of ape hanger handlebars.

Saw some of the photos and videos (the BMW one is kinda boring for the first 10 min). I'm undecided about the mufflers. While they are unique they seem oversized for the rest of the rear end. Maybe if someone wants to leave one in my driveway for a season I'll see if they grow on me.

I would imagine aftermarket exhausts will be available in short order. Harley is in trouble an the sales department and this won't help their situation.

A big heavy cruiser is a nice ride, not better or worse, kind of like a Cadillac compared to a Corvette. I have no doubt that Beemer will out handle a Harley. I know it's not what most people on here ride, but I think we'll be seeing them on the road.

That sounds like a big assumption.
It's not like the 12C did that.
And the specs don't suggest that's a fait accompli.

This is Harley's hope for the future - I can just imagine the 'Get your motor runnin' guys I know trading in their FLHXXXX for one of these.

Not too bad. Mufflers are an abomination.
Think we saw a slightly different version of this at Barber last year. They were pushing it pretty hard.
