Impulse purchase or fate?
Riding in Montana / Wyoming has always been on my bucket list, just never made it a priority to do something about it. Was going through some email last night and saw one from Piaggio for this year's Guzzi riding experience on the v100. One of the locations is WY/MT.
Checked the calendar - good, checked the budget - good, checked w/ wife - good (!). Went to reservations and got the last spot. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Not cheap but easy, convenient and a chance to ride a new V100 Mandello around some spectacular country. For shits and giggles I looked up renting a bike, hotel and meals and it's actually not too much more to let Guzzi do it all. This is going to be fun!

Eric, that will be amazing! Will the bikes be V85 or V100?

They're using V100's this year - one of the reasons I booked. Last year's rides were on V85's and already owning one made them far less interesting.

WOW looks like great route. The Beartooth is spectacular, I've been twice once with a group and we were moving, once alone, and slow, where I could look at the territory I was riding through. Fast was fun but slow was a lasting memory.
Don't let the time of year fool you, make room for some electric stuff (ask them what plug the bikes have). I was out there in July and they had the snow plows out in Yellowstone, luckily I was South in the Tetons where it dropped to 28°
And on a V100 - take pictures.

That looks awesome,Beartooth is Great.
To bad they aren't doing Chief Joseph out of Cody but that would be a loop back to Beartooth.
I've done both,great memories.

That's quite an endorsement. Looking forward to it even more.

Chief Joseph is the first thing I thought of when I saw the route. I guess it couldn't be worked into the route. Not a lot of elevation but very pretty.

Nice - I got that email and the routes looked great. Pricing didn't seem bad either, it worked out to something like $1k for bike rental and the rest covered meals and hotels. Not bad at all. Can't wait to hear what you think!!!

Be careful, I hear Piaggio is reimbursing you half the cost of your adventure ($1,250.) if you buy a new V100.
WIN, WIN!
