THE YEAR OF MOTO GUZZI'S CENTENARY IS OPENING WITH 2021 TO CELEBRATE THE HUNDRED YEARS OF THE AQUILA, WYD - MOTO GUZZI WORLD DAYS ARE BACK, FROM 9 TO 12 SEPTEMBER IN MANDELLO DEL LARIO, WITH AN EXTRAORDINARY EDITION A SPECIAL CENTENARY CELEBRATIVE LIVERY IS UNVEILED, PRODUCED IN EXCLUSIVE EDITION ONLY IN 2021 AND INSPIRED BY THE MYTHICAL EIGHT CYLINDERS, AVAILABLE ON ALL MODELS A century of history, a hundred years of splendid motorcycles, of victories, of adventures, of legendary characters who have built the myth of the Eagle brand. Moto Guzzi celebrates this extraordinary birthday with a 2021 full of initiatives that will have its highlight in the GMG - Moto Guzzi World Days, scheduled in Mandello del Lario from 9 to 12 September. GMGs - Moto Guzzi World Days have always been an unmissable event for every enthusiast and, highly anticipated, they return ten years after the last edition. Tens of thousands of enthusiasts will flock from all over the world to experience a unique and unforgettable event made possible thanks to the collaboration between Moto Guzzi, the International Motorcycle Rally Committee and the municipality of Mandello del Lario.
On such a special occasion, Moto Guzzi will produce a limited series of its models in a special Centenary livery, which will only be available on the V7, V9 and V85 TT in the course of 2021. An exclusive, elegant and fascinating color scheme, evocative of a unique history and which originates from the aesthetics of legendary motorcycles, which have marked the history of motorcycling, first of all the Otto Cilindri of 1955. A crazy and visionary idea, an extraordinary bike born to compete in the 500 World Championship class, a project so daring that it was decades ahead of all world motorcycle production. This milestone in the history of the motorcycle was presented in a very elegant combination of colors in its purely racing essence, combining the satin metal of the tank with the green of the fairing and the leather of the saddle. Colors that also characterized the 350 Bialbero, one of the most successful bikes in history, unbeatable dominator of the 350 class in the World Championship, with the amazing record of 9 consecutive world titles (5 riders and 4 manufacturers) from 1953 to 1957. Green was also the first color "worn" by a Moto Guzzi with the Normale, the first model, and probably the most iconic of the Eagle colors. The Style Center has reinterpreted it in a modern key with a matte finish and associated with metallic colors that express the solidity and authenticity of the Larian brand. The colors of the bodywork are combined with a saddle covered with a natural colored material, such as that of the leather, to underline the typically Italian attention to detail.
Other distinctive details are the eagle in a golden finish and the dedicated logo that also graphically celebrates Moto Guzzi's 100 years.
100 YEARS OF HISTORY FOR THE MOST AUTHENTIC BRAND IN WORLD MOTORCYCLING It was exactly March 15, 1921 when the "Società Anonima Moto Guzzi" was established, having as its object "The manufacture and sale of motorcycles and any other activity pertaining or connected to the metalworking industry". And just at that moment, in memory of a comrade-in-arms of the founders, he chose the eagle with spread wings as the symbol of the new company Since then the eagle has been the symbol, soon known throughout the world, of Moto Guzzi. Thus begins from the operational headquarters in Mandello del Lario - in the same factory where the Moto Guzzi bikes are still produced - an industrial enterprise that has marked the history of world motorcycling, through motorcycles that have entered the collective imagination, such as the GT 500 Norge (1928) brought to the Arctic Circle by Giuseppe Guzzi, brother of the founder Carlo, the Airone 250 (1939), the Galletto (1950) who contributed to mass motorization after the war. In those years the wind tunnel was inaugurated - the first in the world in the motorcycle field, which can still be visited in the Mandello plant - wanted by a close-knit team in which extraordinary technicians work such as Umberto Todero, Enrico Cantoni and a designer who will soon enter the myth : the Milanese Giulio Cesare Carcano, father of the incredible 285 km / hour Otto Cilindri (in 1955) and of the prototypes that between 1935 and 1957 won 15 world speed titles and 11 Tourist Trophy. In the 1960s, after the light motorbikes Stornello and Dingo, Moto Guzzi gave life to the 700cc 90 ° V-twin engine with shaft final drive, destined to become the very symbol of the Mandello company through legendary models such as the V7 Special. V7 Sport, California and Le Mans. Based on this architecture, the engine is constantly evolved to motorize, supported by the most advanced electronic controls, the most popular contemporary Moto Guzzi bikes such as the V7 range. V9 in Roamer and Bobber versions and the great V85 TT traveler, the world's first example of classic enduro.

Damn those colors suck.

But like I said on ADV, at least they copied my "paint half the side cover" theme on the V7.

Looks like they ran out of green tanks but still have plenty of black rear fenders.

That seems to be the 'thing' lately.  looks like they just grabbed parts out of a parts bin and bolted them on, either that or whoever assembled it was color blind.    I like a paint job that flows from the front to the back, makes the bike look longer and lower more pleasing to the eye. IMHO

Like I mentioned on WG, maybe there were bigger plans interrupted by COVID. Hopefully they look better in person but yeah, kinda ho-hum.
