Wonders never cease - thanks for sharing! Now, how long do you think they'll last?

Would do you folks think about asking if they'd host a monthly MGNOC-NJ chapter meeting? Neptune it pretty central to everyone and it could be mutually beneficial if they're really going to embrace the brand.

It would likely be a good idea to wait a few months (or years) for them to sell a few bikes before we approach them. Or at least wait and see if they're actually going to stock a few bikes and parts.egschade wrote:Would do you folks think about asking if they'd host a monthly MGNOC-NJ chapter meeting? It will be interesting to see who will be their Guzzi expert, likely they'll just pick one of the new kids that grew up on Jap stuff and send him to a one week school. I guess it's a case of hope for the best and expect the worst. There is a large Italian population in this area that you would think would be interested in Italian bikes. The old Two Rs (Russ) in Freehold never advertised or displayed the bikes at any local events, this dealer seems to spend money pushing the Indian line at local events maybe he'll do the same for Guzzi.

I’m highly skeptical, then again how can you not be?
I’ll give ‘em a wave on my way north to Hamlin’s.

Re: New Guzzi dealer in NJ
Well, let’s see…..
I bought my 2003 EV from Moto International in Seattle and had them ship it me.
They did not service my bike after the sale and are now out of business.
I bought my 2007 Norge from a dealer in Northwest NY.
They did not service my bike after the sale and are now out of business.
I bought my 2008 Tuono from a dealer in Millville.
They did not service my bike after the sale and are now out of business.
So, yes, if I were in the market for a new Guzzi, I would pay this new guy a visit.

I bought my only new Guzzi from Indian / Moto Guzzi of Wayne (NJ) who are now in West Chester, PA. They did not service my bike but at least they're still in business.
I, too, am skeptical but if they have any interest in the brand then what's the harm in engaging with them? At worst they drop the line or close - at best we create a little energy for Guzzi in the area and attract new buyers/riders.

Being in a bike club in that area for 24 years the "Italians"(or anyone else) in that club would not be interested. Most are interested in the local Harley dealer or Japanese dealers.

Nick,
Maybe you should stay away from the new dealer, give the guy a chance.
Also don't visit Jim Hamlin. he's a nice guy and doesn't deserve any grief.
It seems any contact with you is il bacio della morte for a Guzzi dealer.

I live near this dealership. Been there several times. Nice shop, friendly people. We should visit as a group. As I recall they also had Royal Enfields.

Anyone been to the dealer recently? Looks like they finally got a couple bikes in stock. I may try to take a ride down tomorrow if time and weather permit.

FYI, their website says they’re open on Sundays. They are NOT. Guess that’s too difficult to change.
