WARNING WARNING
It seems the State of Pennsylvania has just passed a law that allows all vehicles to proceed through a red light if the detection system doesn't see their vehicle.
This law was originally written for motorcycles only, but in their great wisdom the Pennsylvania legislature decided to expand it to all vehicles.
Their is no set time you have to wait. When you think you'll been there long enough - just go.
IMHO - this is insane, it's sure to be abused (like right on red) and virtually no way for a LEO to write a ticket if it is.
SO - When riding in PA don't relax, that car (SUV,truck) at the red light might suddenly (and legally) decide to go through it.

Re: WARNING WARNING
It's odd that a state would move away from ticketable offenses that help fill the coffers. I agree with you, just one more way to get hit from the side and the car to say "they didn't see you"
Re: WARNING WARNING
Here's some interesting information relating to this that I stumbled onto on the internet:
The other states that have “dead red” laws are Arkansas, Idaho, Kansas, Nevada, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and California.
Each state has its own variation of the law. Some include bicyclists; some don’t. Some require the motorcyclist to wait one minute, some two minutes, and some “a reasonable about of time.
Could be of use to those of us that travel by MC.
