Pemi River 2019
Well….let’s see….On Thursday 6/6 I got up at 3am, had a few espresso cups and left at 4am. At 6 I arrived at the secret rendezvous location on GSP. Emptied the earlier coffees and had a shitty cappuccino from the Starbuck there. After the Bear Mountain Bridge I just took secondary roads and arrived in RI at 10:30. Had breakfast and hung out for a while. Arrived at the Pemi River Campground at approx. 3pm.
There were about a dozen or so that arrived on Thursday. We just paid $12 to the Campground for the extra night. The BMW club's president treated us for dinner that evening. The Rally was well attended and everyone seemed to have had a good time. The weather was perfect. Cold nights and sunny, breezy, days. 5-6 of us took a ride to have breakfast at Polly’s (Franconia). After that I took Rt.3 to 302 to Maine and Rts 112-3 back to NH. Saturday we rode to Vermont for Breakfast and I then took Rts 10-116-112-3 back to the Campground.
Left the Campground at 5:30 this morning and got home at 3:45pm
I’ll attach a copy of my route to and from the rally. 492 miles going and 468 coming back. Rode 265 miles on Fri and Sat. Total for the trip 1,225 miles. The bike (California EV) behaved superbly.

Re: Pemi River 2019
The one thing that I found very irritating was the low speed limit on secondary roads in New England. Most roads that crossed town centers were 25 to 30 mph and I can take that, but rural roads in the middle of nowhere were mostly 35 and 40 mph.
The Taconic Pkway had a heavy State Troopers's presence, but I feel that 55 is a good speed limit for that road.

The Taconic has always been heavy with State Police. They hide on the elevated areas in the center and it's a down ramp to the road. they hit the blacktop at 80MPH.
OTOH your going through Dutchess County. A few years ago at around 5 AM I was doing about 80 MPH in the right lane, no one on the road. The right lane was bumpy and the left looked good, checked the mirror and was about to pull over and something red passed me like I was standing still. When I pulled into O's diner it was in the gas station across the street, and there was the 'dancing horse' on the hood (bonnet). I guess rich people can afford those big tickets, or lawyers to fight them.
I used to like New England, and spent a lot of time up there but it's getting too built up. But I do know some 'special' roads.
