BMW bikes are now so sophisticated that they no longer need a rider.  Want to take a Coast to Coast trip?  Bolt on a GoPro and head it West.

I've read articles about this with BMW saying that just because they CAN doesn't mean they WILL. More of a test bed for 'anti-collision / rider enhancement technology'.

Won't it be exciting to ride a 2025 R-Series and have it slam on the brakes or execute an emergency swerve without you being prepared? BMW Technician: "Yes officer, it's unfortunate that the rider was thrown to their death but look, the motorcycle avoided the perceived threat and is perfectly fine!"

It is only a showcase to prove what the motorcycle could be capable of technically. We have a model that we can use for future rider-assistance systems."
