Vintage Bikes
How many people on here have vintage (pre 81) bikes.
I'm planning on riding my /5 (71 Beemer) to the BMW Square Root rally (South of Gettysburg) first weekend in June. I'll be riding slow and in a mature manner on back roads, when I can, they have bunkhouses to sleep in if you get in around noon on Friday. Open to anyone, but pace might be a little slow for someone on a modern touring bike.

I have 4 pre-81 bikes, though I wouldn't take the Aermacchi. Lemme see if my work schedule cooperates (I typically only have 1 weekend off a month)
Re: Vintage Bikes
I have the 1980 V50. Only place it's taking me is to Guilt City. Haven't touched it in months.

1985 Harley 1000 XLH Ironhead
I own a 1985 Harley 1000 XLH Ironhead
Its looks really nice and runs like a champ. Not too loud and obnoxious. Ive restored it to a point to be reliable and good looking. If anyone know about these bikes, a took kit, parts, and luck are required on a ride more than 3 miles from home, lol. Id be happy ride the slower lane with others breaking down with me. I call her the Black Betty.

Re: Vintage Bikes
I also have a Sportster
Would be interested in leaving early Friday, thru Lancaster county to the Harley Plant in York, take the tour, do cheapish motel. Saturday Am come home, maybe run thru Gettysburg. They don't do the tour on the weekend.
Could spend time in Gettysburg and come home Sunday.
Anyone interested in something like this maybe in July or August??

Re: Vintage Bikes
hi mogu83, I would be def interested in the Gettysburg Friday Saturday and maybe come home Saturday night or Sunday am early. I'm free most of July and Aug except for last week in Aug. Its been over 20 years since I've visited the Harley plant. Throw out some dates and see what sticks. I'll need a few weeks notice to get a vacation day Friday off from work.

Re: Vintage Bikes
Last year the boys and I rode vintage bikes all over southeastern PA with Joel at Retro Tours. Had a lot of fun riding slow and dodging horse manure on the back roads. I WILL get the V50 running one day...
