Zippo hand warmers

Post by Nick on Sun Nov 12, 2017 9:22 am

Down at Willville a couple of weeks ago, a couple of campers were using these. Anyone here ever use them and what do you think?

Hey Nick.
I have pair.    I use them when skiing. Work well.  Just need to remember to fuel them.  drunken

I don't have the zippo's but, I do use the disposables. Cold evenings camping, I put them in my pockets or inside my gloves. An hour before bed I throw them in the down sleeping bag. Then I leave them at the bottom of the bag overnight.

Used to use Zippos back in the day before the disposable ones became available (isn't that the way with many things?). They were a Godsend for outdoor winter activities.

One note on using the disposables - they work better if you put them on top of your hands (or toes) as blood flows from the top of your hand to the palm. Also, when using the foot ones with the sticky, put them on your sock, not the boot. If you put them on the boot and forget to remove them when done they are really difficult to remove.
