Barber's and weather
I hope Harry, Dwight, Laura and Paul are doing OK in Birmingham Alabama. The weather looks a little, well a lot, worrisome.

Re: Barber's and weather
The Vintage day festival was cancelled as of 6pm last night. We headed back to our friends RV, loaded the bikes in the garage part, got more beer and food and settled in.
We saw Harry yesterday, he said he was going to head out, that was mid afternoon. It didn't start raining here until 8pm so we hope he stayed ahead of it.
It isn't bad here, it is raining. The forecast has improved overnight, less wind (20-40mph), lots of rain. we plan to watch football (yes, he has a tv too...) today and head out tomorrow. It's a very fast moving storm and we hope to stay behind the worst of the rain.

Re: Barber's and weather
When they shutdown the event on Saturday I went back to the campground to see what was going on and make a decision. The Barber guy at the campground said 'We can't make you leave, but we strongly suggest it.'. At 3PM I pulled out, very light rain that increased as I rode East, I made Bristol by 9PM. Up early next day I headed North in rain that cycled from light to moderate with occasional heavy downpours. I started with full rain gear on and it stayed on till I arrived home at 3PM in very light rain, but I was dry. I didn't stop for anything but gas, no coffee or food, thinking the ugly stuff was coming up behind me.
I can only hope that the people in the large metal box are safe and dry. I think Laura was kidding about watching a NFL game.
Only drama -- Saturday night on Rt81 just South of Bristol, rain and dark, a bat (rodent kind) hit my right shoulder, fluttered across my chest and went on its way over the left side of the bike.
EDIT:
Here's an E-mail from Barber.
Due to inclement weather expected tonight and Sunday, the 2017 Barber Vintage Festival presented by Triumph will conclude Saturday at 6PM. The event will not be open for spectators on Sunday. For your safety we recommend that you leave property tonight prior to 8PM. In the event of severe weather areas available for shelter onsite are:
· Paddock Race Control
· Building in Upper D Camping Lot
· Building at courtyard located in the Swap meet

Glad you're back safely Harry. We could have called the Flight of the Valkyrie had you taken the Honda.
