Photobucket

Post by mogu83 on Sat Aug 12, 2017 11:23 am

I know a few of you guys use Photobucket.  What is going on??
Everything looks good but when you preview the post, something, I thing in Forumotion,  changes the IMG command to this --

Seems I can use photobucket on other forums but not this Formotion hosted forum

Photobucket allowed hotlinking photos uploaded to and stored on its servers for a long time. This was their business model, and they made money from ads on their own site, which users would be exposed to when they went to upload content.

Unfortunately for Photobucket users, things are about to change in a big way as of June 26th. Now the service is rolling out a $399 per year subscription fee for those who want to hotlink images from Photobucket’s servers to display elsewhere. That means that billions of images across the Web now display an error message instead of the image in question.

I read that also, BUT I wonder if it's current, or even correct. I can still link Photobucket to the New Sweden Forum, so I'm thinking it's a Formotion thing, or something is running on top of our forum.

This is being done by Forumotion.   But they are mistaken, the 2 Gig free service still exists on Photobucket and can be linked to.

Do you as admin have a way to tell Forumotion the free service still exists?

Here's the answer, I can't change it only an administrator can:

This new solution is now online. Your Photobucket pictures should be disabled on your forum right now. Indeed, they automatically are replaced on your forum by an empty picture. However, you can display them easily, just by setting it in your administration panel > general > security

Enlarge this image

It's up to the administrators of the forum to activate it or not

Thank you for your patience :rose:

The ADMIN and the President.. OMG we're doomed.

Have a good time. Bring back stories and maybe a picture or two.
